The Supreme Court, in its ruling filed on 07/12/2016, has ruled on the dismissal of an employee for "a better business management and a greater profitability."

The case is very interesting because the dismissal is motivated by  reduction of costs and an increase of profit.

The Supreme Court cited art. 51 of the Italian Constution, which is about freedom of economic initiative.

It is up to the Court to assess  the actual existence of the causal connection between the dismissal of the employee and the need for a more efficient company management.
