CHINA IN 2015: PRESENTATION OF THE SIXTH EDITION OF THE ANNUAL REPORT POSTED BY THE ITALY-CHINA FOUN

On April 22th, 2015, in the Pirelli Hall of the Region Palace, Milan, took place the presentation of the sixth edition of the Annual Report “China in 2015. Scenarios and prospects for companies”, developed by the Centre of Studies for Enterprises, Italy-China Foundation (CeSIF).

The relationships planned for the occasion have been numerous and significant, as from the introductory greetings of Cesare Romiti, the President of the Foundation, who immediately has pointed out how, in Italy, “we continue to be unfamiliar with China” and how it “remains a deficit, despite the improvements in the relationship with our country”. The President’s thought immediately shifted to the topical theme of Expo, considered like “an unmissable opportunity for those who want to grow their business in China” and who also can use the China Indicator of Provincial Business Attractiveness (CIBA), which was developed by the Foundation in collaboration with the Catholic University and which will be very useful for the companies.

Then, with the intervention of Thomas Rosenthal, Director of CeSIF, participants got to the heart of the event through a detailed summary of the performed work and of it’s purposes. How does the Foundation explain, the Report respond to “the need of Italian companies to know the dynamics of the Chinese market and the main available opportunities, providing information on the development of the country and the market, even in terms of risk, in order to better guide the Italian investments”.

Very interesting have been also the presentations of real cases carried out by the top management of some companies already present in the Chinese market, i.e. Prima Industrie, Tenaris and Eldor. With the description of their more or less long process of opening to China, these people have been able to make available to their interlocutors a broad and valuable experience.

BLB Law Firm thinks that the concept which better clarifies what it means to be open to a reality like China is the following: to enter China you must think as Chinese, you must act as Chinese, in short, you must become Chinese!
