The digital field does not affect only the future, but also the present: a present highly topical. Italy is aware of this and has demonstrated it through the “Internet Bill of right”, that is the first official recognition of rights and duties in web.

The values that inspired it are the same ones of our tradition, as stated under the Italian Constitution; nevertheless its principles and rights are all new: the Bill ranges from the net neutrality to the right to be forgotten, from the right of education to the inviolability of systems and domiciles for information.

The Bill has several novelties and just as several implications in different regulated sectors, such as that of competition: this is felt and stated by Prof. Pitruzzella, President of the Italian Antitrust Authority. The proper functioning of the digital market constitutes the necessary condition to enforce Internet rights, by strengthening the freedom of choice for users and counteracting the abuse from the market power holders.
