China’s Huashang Law Firm and Italy’s BLB form alliance

Shenzhenbased Huashang Law Firm has entered into an alliance with Italy’s BLB Law Firm, giving both firms greater access to clients and work in the US, Europe and Asia.

According to a statement, the alliance will enable both firms to “provide mutual support in financial scouting as well as in the development of crossborder investment projects”.

With 30 attorneys, BLB Law Firm currently has offices in Rome and Milan, and desks in the U.S. and Spain. Huashang Law Firm has around 250 lawyers across its four offices in Shenzhen, Changsha, Zhongshan and Sydney.

The two firms join forces at a time when Chinese investment into Europe is increasing. Italy is now the second largest recipient of Chinese foreign direct investment in Europe, after the UK.

Chinese law firms are starting to cash in on this trend. Just last month, Han Kun Law Offices formed an alliance with Italian firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners.
